We have a new School Council…
Well done to everyone elected and
make sure you wear your shiny, yellow badges with pride!
What a lot of things we seem to have
done so far:
Our first task was to help Mrs Meade at the
Macmillan Coffee and Cake afternoon, setting up the hall,
serving delicious looking cakes, looking after the donations and giving out
stickers. Our generous parents gave a
grand total of £308.68. Here are some photos of our cafĂ©…
Mrs Pattrick has recently asked all the children in
school about the values they consider important at
Crabtree.
‘What is it that makes our school such a special
place?’
After
voting for their favourite value the School Council counted all the votes. The most popular value was:
‘Caring’
We have discussed what ‘caring’ means to us and those
ideas will be put into a word cloud and displayed around the school.
Then
on Friday 14th November it was…Children In Need!
In a recent meeting the children had lots of fun
painting a giant Pudsey Bear for our ‘Children In Need’ assembly. They wanted everyone to come to school in
their pyjamas and to bring their super-hero teddies and a donation in with
them. During the assembly Mrs Meade
invited everyone to put their coins on Pudsey, making his pyjamas even
spottier! We raised a grand total of
£210.70. Thank you everyone.
The following week The Rotary Club came
to collect the shoe boxes filled by our children, to be sent to other children less fortunate
than ourselves. The School Council were
on hand to carry the boxes into the van.
It was hard work!
